It's almost baseball season, and I'm starting to get really excited for those Mariners.
This year, they're making some position changes in their line-up that I think is going to really set the ball rolling.
First, they are putting Ichiro into the 3rd spot. This will allow him to really stretch out that swing and try and poke one or two over that outfield fence. He is adopting a new batting stance style that should really get some more power into his push. Hopefully he's ripening with age like a good wine. His shoulders might be a little rusty after so many years in the outfield, but let's hope he's been training over the fall and eating a lot of protein bars and hummus to strengthen up those shoulders for the new season.
Seond, we're getting good ol' Chone Figgy into the lead off position. This is a great move to make, since that new dynamic in first position will make him feel right at home and allow him to open up at the plate. There's been plenty of cases where a player has started doing great after being moved into first position. SO I'm really hoping that choney will be able to make a big comeback this season like Lee Lacy for the 1972 dodgers or Paulo
Carnahan or Pumpsie Green for the 1963 New York Mets.
I'm predicting IChiro to bat over .310 this season with at least 30 HR's, so I think we can all look forward to a great mariners season. Chone Figgins will bat above .295 with at least 15 doubles.
So let's look forward to a really great Maroner season this year!
